Fun Filled Weekend at the Zoo and Cox Farms

Over the gorgeous weekend, we maximized every last bit of the final days of Summer. On Saturday we went to the Zoo and Max got to see elephants, gorillas, lions, tigers, turtles, and alligators, etc. He didn't care too much for anything except for the animals behind glass enclosures that he would bang on.

These pics are from Cox Farms in Chantilly. It was a lot better than I would have thought a farm could be but basically Max had a killer time on the slides, seeing the animals up close and personal, and posing in some fun pics.

With gas prices on the rise, public transportation not only saves money but it's good for the environment. Thank you for helping save the world Max.

This is our new family van... as you know the economy sucks right now and we've had to downsize.

Whee!

Yahoo!

This thing was a little scary but it was pretty fun for a slide at a farm.

Here's Max with the Tarry's who showed us a great time on the farm.

A fun filled day in DC!

Saturday morning we went to the Eastern Market to have breakfast. We had Blue Buck pancakes, bacon, a Mexicano omelet with potatoes and toast. And it was fantastic... especially the bacon.

Then we went cruising around in Max's new stroller...

Then it was mommy's turn to push Max around.

We eventually made it out to the Natural History Museum... it was PACKED!!!! Good thing the new stroller was so nimble. We got the B.O.B Revolution with the 12" wheels in the back not the 16" and it's fantastic for anyone that cares.

We found a little alcove to hide and had a chance to take a picture with mommy.... Enough rest... on to the exhibits!

"Hey daddy, did you see THAT! The cat and the bird and the brown unicorn with the double horns... WoW!!!"

Here we are with America's dirt... Yawn...

That sword fish eye is about as big as Max's head.

Here's Max petting his pet primate... how cute... and a little disturbing.

"... uh... mom... there's a big scary fish behind you... let's get out of here..."

Just around the corner... Max find's himself locked eye to eye with a Great White Shark... The only words Max could think of as he soiled his diaper was, "Oh, snap..."

He wastes no time and makes a mad dash to his escape. That was close.

Hanging out with auntie Marcela at the pool

Labor Day family fun

Here's Andrew, Daniela's cousin, holding Max. I think it was his first time holding a baby. As you can imagine judging by his technique, it was certainly his last time holding Max.

Chill'n with his feet up pool side.

Here's mommy and aunt Marcela doing a Wrigley Doublemint gum commercial.

Mommy and aunt Marcela... ooh la la.

Starting clockwise from Daniela, Max, Uncle Pastor Chang, David, Andrew, Great Grandma, Great Grandpa enjoying a nice poolside barbeque.

Maxwell and Friends in B & W

Summer Jobs

During Max's time off from the blog, he didn't have much to do so he tried out out a few odd jobs to fill his time.

Here's Max working hard as a parking attendant at a local concert venue.

Parking cars got boring so Max became a groupie at the concerts... but quit when he found out it paid nothing. He also didn't like what he heard happens to groupies backstage.

So he went back to parking cars at night.

I think he was trying to be a crossing guard here... I hope that rattle on the floor wasn't the reason why he quit...

Then he dabbled into religion. Arch Bishop Maxwell is conductiong the opening prayer here.

Eventually he said "A B C D E... F-it!" He realized that there's nothing better than talking about himself and showing off on his very own blog..!

Fun at our new home in Fairfax

We recently moved to the Reserve at Fairfax Corner and it's been fun. We are directly attached to Fairfax Corner where Max enjoys his stroller rides and where daddy love to drink coffee and walk around REI. Max is absolutely entralled by the fountain there and loves to people watch while eating his Cheerios. Here are some pics from the past couple of weeks here.

Max loves this fountain. We stood there for 5 minutes trying to get Max to look at the camera but to no avail... so this was the best shot that we could get.

We're here with Alivia and Caitlin and their parents along with Jinny and Jake enjoying a nice evening out.

There's a Rio Grande here which is one of our favorite spots to hang out and Max got thirsty and decided that he wanted a cool sip of some of mommy's Pacifico beer.

After a minute or two, Max started to feel it and eventually got hammered. This picture also reminds me of Jud from our office who make the exact same face when he's hammered.

As always, the good times came to an abrupt halt when Max saw the patio circling and felt like blowing chunks.
